This last-ditch effort to revive the franchise only came about after NBC refused to renew the series for the fall 2007 schedule. Turns out the one-off did so well in the ratings, NBC ordered another celebrity edition for January/09. Nothing in the press release about any renewal for a 9th season of just the plain old Apprentice. Have we seen the last of any chance to work for the Donald until we make the B-list? He ended the Celebrity Apprentice 2-hour snore-fest finale (most boring episode of an otherwise surprisingly entertaining season) by saying, "We're going to be around for a long time."
