HIGH SCHOOL MUSICAL: Summer Session is a multi-episode ABC summer reality competition series built around the Disney Channel’s HIGH SCHOOL MUSICAL concept. The series debut was on Sunday, July 20/08.
Two open casting calls were held (April 27 in Long Beach and May 7 in Orlando). According to the official casting website, in addition to the two open calls, casting scouts from "High School Musical: Summer Session" scoured the country looking for otherwise unknown talent they thought deserved a chance to try out for this new reality series. The casting scouts selected some of these individuals to be brought to the final auditions, before a panel of judges, which was held as the final phases of the open calls. Unfortunately, no information was provided regarding how one went about getting the attention of these scouts.
