The season finale of country music singing competition NASHVILLE STAR 6 aired August 4/08. Auditions ran from February 9 to March 21/08. The deadline to submit a video audition was March 10. Those moving on to the 2nd round of casting were contacted by March 31st. Season premiered June 9th.

NASHVILLE STAR moved to NBC from USA Network for season 6. After season 5 ended, word from the producer was that season 6 would air in January, '08. But then USA Network made it clear it wasn't interested. Well, the parent company, Universal NBC, decided to air NASHVILLE STAR 6 this summer on NBC. The format has been expanded, with contestants as young as 16 permitted, and duos and trios now eligible as well.

If you would like to audition to be on NASHVILLE STAR 7, VPTV is tracking series developments and will update this post with new info (Renewed? Season 7 casting process?) when new info becomes available. The reason USA lost interest was the failure of the show to generate a break-out star. Let's hope season 6 winner Melissa Lawson can change that.
